1. Vala’s Pumpkin Patch & Apple Orchard (Gretna, NE)
One of the largest fall festivals in the country, Vala’s is far more than a place to pick a pumpkin. Across hundreds of acres you’ll find everything from corn mazes and live entertainment to mini golf, train rides, rollercoasters, pig races, apple cannons and plenty of food. Stay into the evening for haunted attractions, nighttime entertainment and an entirely different atmosphere after dark.

2. Skinny Bones Pumpkin Patch (Blair, NE)
A giant pumpkin patch with 35+ attractions, including a haunted corn maze, jumping pillow, petting zoo, Frankenslide, giant corn pit and plenty of places for kids to climb, play and burn off some fall energy. Stick around after dark for nighttime attractions and a completely different experience.

3. Bellevue Berry & Pumpkin Ranch (Papillion, NE)
Rustic family farm that turns festive for fall. Pick pumpkins, take hayrides, explore kids’ play areas, and at night visit the Ranch of Terror haunted house & hayride. Ditmar’s Orchard & Vineyard (Council Bluffs, IA)
Pumpkin picking meets apple orchard and vineyard at Ditmar’s, with tractor rides, a corn maze, playground, live music, cider donuts and plenty of fall activities.
One of its biggest events of the season is Fields of Flight, held September 11–12, 2026, when hot air balloons fill the grounds for two nights of balloon glows, food, drinks and live entertainment. It’s one of the more unique fall events you’ll find around the Omaha area.

Markman Pumpkin Patch (Omaha, NE)
In 2025, Markman’s had some issues with their pumpkins. But in 2026, they’re back in business! Here’s the update from Willie: Our main field of pick your own pumpkins will open September 24th, 2026. We are trying to give the field a little more time to mature. We will have a soft opening September 15th. We have a good inventory of corn stalks, straw, grain sorghum, ornamental corn, and specialties.

After more than 30 years as a pumpkin patch, Pioneer Trail has scaled things back as the owners ease into retirement. The farm has returned to its roots with pick-your-own apples, with no admission charge or traditional pumpkin patch attractions. Apple Jack’s at the Patch restaurant and bar remains open year-round on select days, and Madness Haunted Farm continues during the fall season.
Bonus: You can reach Pioneer Trail from the Wabash Trace Trail with just a short ride on the paved road, making this a fun stop to add to a fall bike ride.
