One of the best haunted houses in Omaha, the ranch of terror

When Halloween night rolls around, I can’t help but chase one last thrill. This year, I’ve been checking out haunted houses in Omaha, local yard haunts, and all the spooky fun our city has to offer. Whether you want a mild fright or a full-on scream, Omaha’s got something for everyone.

Map & Scavenger Hunt

I have to give a shout-out to the Omaha Halloween Yard Haunts Facebook group for putting together an incredible scavenger hunt, complete with a yard-haunt map you can follow all over the metro. Check it out here. You’ll find creative homes, eerie inflatables, and even some hidden neighborhood displays that rival professional setups.

But if you’re ready for the big leagues, here’s what locals are saying about this year’s haunted houses in Omaha:

Haunted Houses in Omaha

🎭 Scary Acres
Once an Omaha classic, Scary Acres is still a fun stop—but most visitors agree it’s more “spooky stroll” than “heart-pounding terror.” Parents say it’s a great starter haunted house for younger kids or anyone testing their bravery for the first time.

🌽 Bellevue Berry Farm Haunted House
Don’t be fooled by the family-friendly vibe during the day. When the sun sets, this place goes dark. Several parents shared that their kids were in tears—so consider this one if you’re chasing a real scare (and maybe grab a fried Oreo after to recover).

🩸 Bloodrush & Hillside House of Hell
These two came up again and again as the most intense haunted houses in Omaha. Bloodrush delivers on atmosphere and jump scares, while Hillside is just flat-out wild. If you’re looking for a classic haunted-house rush, this is where locals say to go.

🔦 Dungeon of the Damned (Downtown Omaha)
A downtown favorite for those who want creepy sets and good storytelling. More “immersive” than “terrifying,” it’s one of the few spots reviewers said was actually worth the ticket price.

🚌 Eagle Hollow Haunts (Eagle, NE)
This one’s a short drive but worth it for the creativity alone. Riders board a school bus that loops a racetrack before venturing into alien-themed attractions deep in the woods. It’s the kind of small-town haunt that feels old-school in the best way.

💀 Madness Haunted House (Council Bluffs)
If you’re up for a cross-river drive, fans say Madness is well-designed and delivers genuine scares.
