Crowd at Stir Concert Cove during a summer concert, one of the top live music venues in Omaha

About twenty years ago, Omaha’s live music scene looked very different.

The Civic Auditorium was still hosting concerts. Ranch Bowl was a favorite stop for music fans. The Mid-America Center was the new kid on the block, bringing larger tours to the region.

Today, the Omaha metro offers everything from sold-out arena concerts and intimate theaters to outdoor amphitheaters and free summer music series. Whether you’re new to the area or you’ve lived here for years, there are more opportunities than ever to catch a great show.

Here’s our guide to the best live music venues in Omaha and the surrounding area.

🎵 Local’s Tip: One of the best parts about Omaha’s music scene is that every venue offers a different experience. Some are all about getting as close to the stage as possible, while others are perfect for date nights, family outings, or relaxing under the stars. In this guide, we’ve included our favorite local tips for each one

Big Arena Concerts

CHI Health Center Omaha

If you’re looking for the biggest names in music, this is where you’ll probably end up.

Formerly known as Qwest Center and CenturyLink Center, CHI Health Center hosts many of the biggest tours that stop in Nebraska.

Best For

  • Major arena tours
  • Country concerts
  • Rock concerts
  • Pop artists

🎵 Local’s Tip: Plan ahead for downtown parking and consider grabbing dinner before the show.

Mid-America Center (Council Bluffs)

One of the biggest advantages of the Mid-America Center is something every concertgoer appreciates…

Free parking.

It’s also one of the easiest venues to reach from Interstate 80.

Many Omaha families also associate the Mid-America Center with Trans-Siberian Orchestra, which traditionally kicks off its Christmas tour here each November.

Pinnacle Bank Arena (Lincoln)

Don’t overlook Lincoln.

If your favorite artist skips Omaha, there’s a good chance they’ll stop here instead.

Located in Lincoln’s Haymarket District, Pinnacle Bank Arena is surrounded by restaurants, breweries and shops, making it easy to turn your concert into a full evening out.

Mid-Size Concert Venues

Steelhouse Omaha

One of Omaha’s newest concert venues, Steelhouse has quickly become a favorite because of its outstanding acoustics and intimate feel.

Artists who might not fill a major arena often choose Steelhouse instead, giving fans a much closer concert experience.

Liberty First Credit Union Arena (Ralston)

Formerly known as Ralston Arena, this venue regularly hosts concerts, comedians, sporting events and family entertainment.

Parking is plentiful (and free), and it’s much easier to navigate than downtown venues.

The Astro (La Vista)

The Astro has become one of the hottest additions to the Omaha concert scene.

With both an indoor theater and outdoor amphitheater, it attracts an impressive lineup of national artists while offering excellent sightlines and an easy concert experience.

🎵 Local’s Tip: Come hungry. The burger at The Astro is one of our favorites.

Clubs, Lounges, Bars and Intimate Music Venues

Some of Omaha’s best live music experiences happen in smaller venues where the crowd is close to the stage and every performance feels personal. From underground bars and neighborhood lounges to stylish cocktail clubs, these local spots showcase everything from indie rock and punk to jazz, blues, acoustic music, and touring acts.

Slowdown

Located in Omaha’s North Downtown neighborhood, Slowdown is one of the city’s best-known destinations for live music. The venue regularly welcomes local musicians, nationally touring bands, and emerging indie artists. With a spacious performance area, full bar, and energetic crowds, it is a great place to catch a show before or after exploring the nearby restaurants, breweries, and entertainment options.

The Well

Tucked beneath Sozo Coffeehouse, The Well offers a unique underground concert experience. Exposed brick, string lighting, and an industrial-style setting give the space a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. The venue frequently features Christian, alternative, and independent artists, with some performances offered at little or no cost.

The Jewell

For jazz lovers, The Jewell provides an elevated live music experience in downtown Omaha’s Capitol District. Its sophisticated setting pairs perfectly with performances featuring jazz, blues, soul, and other related styles. Whether you are planning a date night or simply want to enjoy talented musicians in an upscale environment, The Jewell is one of Omaha’s most distinctive music destinations.

Down Under Lounge

The Down Under Lounge is a laid-back neighborhood bar that puts local art, original music, and community at the center of the experience. Rather than feeling like a traditional sports bar, the space offers an eclectic atmosphere where guests can grab a drink and discover musicians from Omaha and beyond. It is an especially good choice for anyone interested in finding talented artists outside the mainstream.

Reverb Lounge

Located along the lively Benson strip, Reverb Lounge combines live music with a stylish, mid-century-inspired atmosphere. The venue hosts an eclectic mix of independent and touring performers while offering craft beer, specialty cocktails, and an intimate listening space. Its professional sound and lighting help make even a smaller show feel like a major event.

The Waiting Room Lounge

The Waiting Room Lounge has become one of Benson’s most recognizable live music venues. Its calendar includes local performers and touring acts spanning rock, punk, alternative, metal, country, and other genres. With a welcoming bar, plenty of energy, and a long history of memorable performances, it remains a favorite among Omaha music fans.

The B. Bar

The B. Bar is designed to create a closer connection between performers and the audience. Its lineup includes both local and national musicians representing a variety of genres. Guests can enjoy the performance while choosing from cocktails, spirits, wine, and draft beer in a comfortable neighborhood setting.

Buck’s Bar & Grill

Located just west of Omaha in Waterloo, Buck’s Bar & Grill is a favorite destination for live music, cold drinks, and a relaxed night out. The venue regularly welcomes local and touring performers, with a lineup that often includes country, Americana, rock, and talented singer-songwriters. Its casual, welcoming atmosphere makes Buck’s a great place to enjoy dinner, discover a new artist, or make the short drive from Omaha for a lively weekend show.

Barnato

Barnato brings live entertainment to an upscale West Omaha environment. Its dramatic Art Deco-inspired design, luxurious seating, and carefully crafted cocktail menu create the feeling of stepping into a modern speakeasy. It is an excellent option for a dressed-up night out that includes live music, drinks, and an atmosphere unlike most other venues in the city.

Dubliner Pub

Hidden below street level in Omaha’s Old Market, Dubliner Pub delivers the welcoming feel of a traditional Irish pub. Guests descend into a cozy basement filled with classic décor, friendly conversation, cold drinks, and regularly scheduled local entertainment. It is a fun stop for anyone who enjoys live music in a casual and distinctly Old Market setting.

Outdoor Live Music Venues

Stir Concert Cove

If someone asked us which live music venue in Omaha offers the best atmosphere, Stir Concert Cove would be near the top of the list.

Located behind Harrah’s Casino in Council Bluffs, this outdoor venue combines national touring acts with beautiful views of the Omaha skyline.

Whether you’re seeing classic rock legends or today’s hottest artists, the setting is hard to beat.

🎵 Local’s Tip: Get there early if you want to be close to the stage.

Stir Concert Cove has hosted legendary performers like Slash, and thanks to its intimate layout, getting remarkably close to the stage is possible if you arrive early.

SumTur Amphitheater

If you’re looking for a relaxed summer evening, SumTur Amphitheater in Papillion is hard to beat. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, settle in under the stars, and enjoy everything from tribute bands to community concerts.

🎵 Local’s Tip: Some of the best nights aren’t seeing a Grammy winner—they’re spending a warm Nebraska evening listening to a great tribute band with friends.

Sumtur amphitheater is one of the first outdoor live music venues in Omaha.
Tribute bands like Hairball have helped make SumTur Amphitheater a favorite for outdoor summer concerts.

Westfair Amphitheater (Council Bluffs)

Just across the river in Council Bluffs, Westfair Amphitheater has become another great option for outdoor concerts featuring national touring artists. With easy access from Omaha, plenty of parking, and an open-air atmosphere, it’s well worth adding to your concert rotation. If your favorite band announces an Omaha-area stop, don’t be surprised if it’s at Westfair.

🎵 Local’s Tip: Bring sunscreen if you’re attending an early evening show, and check the venue’s bag policy before you go.

Memorial Park

Every summer, Memorial Park hosts one of Omaha’s biggest outdoor concerts.

It’s one of those traditions that brings thousands of people together for a memorable night of music.

Historic Performance Venues

Orpheum Theater

If you love beautiful architecture as much as live performances, don’t miss the Orpheum.

Broadway productions, comedians, family shows and occasional concerts all take the stage beneath one of Omaha’s most iconic marquees.

The Orpheum theather in Omaha doubles as a live music venue sometimes.
Waiting for Paw Patrol Live…because not every great show involves guitar solos.

Holland Performing Arts Center

Home to the Omaha Symphony, the Holland Center is known for its incredible acoustics.

Don’t assume it’s only for classical music. Throughout the year you’ll also find jazz, singer-songwriters, holiday performances and nationally touring artists.

The Admiral

Formerly known as Sokol Auditorium, The Admiral is a historic Omaha music venue with a modern concert experience. Its understated exterior opens into a spacious performance hall known for strong acoustics and an energetic atmosphere. The medium-sized venue attracts established touring acts, rising artists, and performers from a wide range of musical genres. Located just south of the Old Market and north of Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, The Admiral is also easy to recognize by its classic marquee announcing upcoming shows.

Justin helped make our military move amazing. He was attentive, professional, and personable. Justin was prompt with showing us all the houses we wanted to see. We also felt we could trust his advice. He pointed out potential problems and was patient as we looked for just the right place to call home. It was great to work with someone who understands the military life and the Omaha area.

Great realtor that really knows the area. We found his advice and candor refreshing. He was able to work with our schedule and got us through to closing in record time. Highly recommended!

Justin has managed a rental property we were in. He did a great job going above and beyond to resolve an electrical issue we had. He had to go back and forth with the warranty company on a dryer and the electrician. He got it resolved quickly with very little input from us. Great guy!

Great rental property manager to work with! He manages our rentals and we very seldom have issues, compared to our previous agent. We LOVE his flat-rate monthly pricing structure! Thanks Justin!

We couldn't have asked for a better realtor! Incredibly accommodating and responsive, always keeping us informed every step of the way. Buying a home from long distance could have been stressful, but Justin made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. As a veteran family, we especially appreciated his knowledge of the VA home-buying process and his commitment to serving those who have served. We highly recommend Justin to anyone looking for a trustworthy, hardworking realtor who truly goes above and beyond to help you find your perfect home!

Relocating across the country while on active duty can be stressful, but Justin made the home-buying process effortless. From the start, he understood the unique challenges of a military PCS and went above and beyond what we ever expected. We completed our entire closing remotely, and Justin handled every detail to make it seamless. Even after closing, his support didn't stop. Since we couldn't be there right away, Justin personally installed our garden hoses and set up our automatic sprinkler system to keep our new lawn healthy until we arrived. He also connected us with trusted contractors so we could begin home improvement projects before moving in, saving us valuable time. As if that wasn't enough, he even received one of my vehicles after it was shipped, giving us one less thing to worry about during an already hectic cross-country move. Those aren't things a realtor is expected to do—they're things someone does because they genuinely care about their clients. Justin didn't just help us buy a house; he helped our family make a smooth transition to a new community. His professionalism, communication, local knowledge, and willingness to go above and beyond are second to none. If you're looking for a realtor who will advocate for you, treat you like family, and continue supporting you long after closing day, I can't recommend Justin highly enough. Thank you for Everything you did for our family—we truly appreciate it.

Cannot recommend Justin enough. As first time buyers he patiently walked us through the process along with all of our questions. Being a military family, we had to close sight unseen (nerve racking to say the least), but he ensured every last detail was addressed before we stepped foot in our home. Justin is an expert, well connected in the greater Omaha community, and above all trustworthy .

Justin was an excellent realtor for us. He showed us probably dozens of homes, and was with us and supportive every step of the way. He was there to assist us in navigating when our first deal fell through, helping us deal with the process and some extremely unprofessional agents. He is very knowledgeable and helpful and I cannot recommend him enough, especially if you are military looking to buy in the area, or a veteran looking to find your forever home.
